Increased acid phosphatase activity in the urine obtained directly following a period of sexual excitement was demonstrated in 4 male subjects. One male subject responded with a drop in AP activity while 2 females showed no change. The excitement connected with performing in a play produced very similar responses in 2 of the male subjects. The results conform with the assumption that the prostate responds to emotional stimuli through the autonomic nervous system.
