Circumoral Herpes Simplex and Separation Experiences in Psychotherapy

KONSTANTIN GEOCARIS M.D.1

1 1125 S. Troost. St., Tulsa 20, Okla

The patient presented in this report was a young woman who developed circumoral lesions of herpes simplex during important separation experiences related to her psychotherapy. In the setting of analytically oriented psychotherapy, the therapist had the opportunity of studying these occurrences within the context of the patient's life situation and her fantasies, dreams, and free associations.
