BALB/c mice were subjected to severe separation from their mothers during the first 18 days of life. At 50 days of age, they were significantly less active than controls. At 90 days of age, the experimental and control animals were inoculated with Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells. No differences were found in survival rates, percent of weight gain, or cumulative mortality rates between the two groups.
