A range for gastric acid output and pepsin concentration was determined in 7 dogs with gastric cannulas. There was marked inhibition of gastric secretory output in 4 dogs over a 4-month period after olfactory input was eliminated. Craniotomy in 3 dogs had no effect on gastric secretory output.
