The equation to correct for the underestimation due to measurement imprecision was imperfectly reproduced in the printed version of an article in the May/June issue of Psychosomatic Medicine (Kivimäki et al. Why is evidence on job strain and coronary heart disease mixed? An illustration of measurement challenges in the Whitehall II study. Psychosom Med. 2006;68:398–401). The correct formula is:

where wi1 and wi2 are the first and second measurements on the ith subject and w.1 and w.2 the means of the first and second measurements.
